Lots of bears came down to the woods today....

The first Eastwoodhill Teddy Bears' Picnic took place on Sunday 21st January, a beautiful sunny day, and was a big success with over 60 children enjoying the occasion with their families.  Our own life-sized Big Teddy was a real hit with the children, leading them on two walks through the woods.  There were fun activities, games and face-painting too together with story-telling; bear stories of course!

Sunday 25th February 2007  - The Eastwoodhill Long Lunch

The Eastwoodhill Long Lunch, sponsored by Pultron Composites as part of the Summer Season, took place on Sunday 25th February.  Guests were entertained by the fabulous singer Mere Boynton, together with Te Ua Houkamau, accompanied by Margaret Dunsmore.  The lunch was held on the lawns of the Homestead Garden - a beautiful setting for a very special occasion.  The weather helped to make a perfect day with the marquee providing welcome shade for diners who were able to enjoy a stroll through the gardens during the event.  The meal itself was wonderful and much thanks goes to Sue Matthews at the Polytechnic for her amazing skills in coordinating the whole menu.  With the many volunteers who kindly gave their time on the day, things ran very smoothly and all agreed that it was a wonderful day to remember.
