Bequests and Donations

The Eastwoodhill Trust Board Act was passed in Parliament in 1975 creating the governing body to oversee the maintenance and development of Eastwoodhill Arboretum for the people of New Zealand. No financial support was pledged or has ever been received from the New Zealand government or local government agencies.

From the start Eastwoodhill Trust Board direction was clear, to ensure the long-term viability of Eastwoodhill Arboretum, financial stability with an income generating and sustainable endowment fund was imperative. The Trust Board set about seeking donations, bequests and legacies from the people of New Zealand and abroad.

The Endowment fund still requires much in donations, legacies and bequests to enable the future to remain viable and develop the diverse collection of specimens within the arboretum.

Eastwoodhill Arboretum needs help from interested individuals and groups who are able to assist with ensuring the future of Eastwoodhill is secure.
