Fundraising
The Friends of Eastwoodhill Association, consists of enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers, raising funds to ensure the viability of the arboretum.
Homestead Gardens
The Garden of National Significance as accredited by the Royal New Zealand Institute of Horticulture, incorporates a 1ha Homestead Garden which is developed and maintained by our "Garden Ladies", a dedicated group who garden one day per week to ensure the significant garden is at its best for visitors.
Visitor Centre
The Visitor Centre at the Arboretum which is open 7 days per week in Spring, Summer and Autumn is able to open weekends for visitors due to the dedication of volunteers who staff the Centre on Saturdays and Sundays.
Administration staff are onsite in the Visitor Centre and office Monday to Friday all year round.

Chariot 4WD tours
'Friends' volunteers drive visitors through the arboretum on weekends in the Chariot 4WD vehicle, which enables visitors who are unable to walk too far or on a tight time frame to see further into the 150 ha National Arboretum.

Catering
Operated by culinary talented, Friend volunteers.
Available for bus groups, small groups, special occasions and parties with morning and afternoon teas, lunches, BBQ’s and evening meals. Catering menus may be designed individually to complement all occasions.

Promotional Events
The Friends attend promotional events around the North Island such as the Ellerslie Flower Show, A&P shows, garden and home shows.
